New York based female arts collective of Cleo Wade, Kate Greer, Liza Voloshin, Margot and Mia Moretti hosted a 3-day art, music and performance installation during the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival.

The ladies who founded Conversations, a New York-based female arts collective, selected the Jazz Festival to debut the art and music they've spent months working on at the Kingsway mansion. "We want to create small salon parties that are intimate—all for the sake of art, poetry and music." Wade told BAZAAR.

This is the latest metamorphosis of a legendary home that sits on since 1848 Esplanade Avenue, Crested Creole planters artery that connects the Mississippi Bayou St. John. After being part of the excesses of all kinds of Germaine Cazenave, daughter of a famous local restaurant, which is said she still haunts the rooms, it was the musicians who Kingsway Studios animated with equal enthusiasm . Then, in early 2000, is the actor Nicolas Cage, then married the daughter of Elvis Presley, who settled and put his whole heart to honor its walls the King of Bacchus as the famous carnival from the city...

Big Easy Redux
Jazzing up a New Orleans mansion.

When you're making gumbo, the ingredients can vary enormously. Yet if you know its base, and your fundamentals, those variations cannot only satiate, they can astound–allowing an innovative chef to reinvent the dish, while keeping it true to its origins. Such is also the case with the homes in historic sections of the oldest American cities. Or so says Los Angeles–based designer LM Pagano, who recently finished this 10,000–square–foot antebellum house in New Orleans' French Quarter for developer, hotelier, and native-son Sean Cummings.

When actor Nicolas Cage purchased an historic mansion in New Orleans on Esplanade Avenue, he was scheduled to be crowned King of Bacchus XXIV in 2002. He also began directing his first movie, Sonny, which was partially filmed at his new French Quarter estate.
